My plans for today

My life is not always a fun fest. But I do have good friends and we get together as frequently as we can. I treated myself to a manicure and a pedicure yesterday. I have already been up for a couple hours. I had my kcup french toast coffee with a brownie. Ohh, did I say that. I meant to say a low fat energy bar, yeah that's the ticket. Really.

My daughter came over last night with her family and my SIL helped me with some outdoor chores. My daughter helped me organize my Marie Osmond dolls that I am going to sell at a local consignment store. I want to get a new rug for the great room.

I fixed a pot roast with roasted potatoes and carrots, and all the fixings. I was tired when they left so I just finished doing the dishes from last night. I know too much boring information.

But since I got my nails and pedicure done yesterday morning I am off to a luncheon today and even though it is a little on the cooler side I am wearing my animal print toe slide shoes and my brown capri pants with my animal print tshirt with a little tiny bit of sparkle. I am shameless with my bling sometimes. My outfit is completed with this purse. I don't want to overdo it with the animal print theme.

Jury Duty

I spent yesterday morning waiting to see if I had to report to jury duty. I called at noon and found out I had to report at 1:15. I got my dogs in the garage with access to the yard, grabbed my bottle of water and my nook and headed to Modesto which is about 35 miles away from my small town.
I have to drive about 30 of those miles on country roads before I get to a freeway and most of those roads had detours and by the time I got to the jury parking lot it was full and I had to find a spot to park which I had to find money to feed the meter. I hurried into the basement after going through security and the jury room was locked. I was 10 minutes late and I had to report to the jury office.
I found out that the computer had already sent me a "failure to report" warrant and that following it would be another jury summons. I was stunned and a little shocked. I always have reported to jury duty when I had been called. I felt like I had broken a law or something. I have to admit I broke down and cried a bit. By the time I got back to the car I was okay and decided to go with the flow. This was my first "warrant" so to speak, and I wasn't going to jail or anything. So I decided to go to TJ's and this is my haul.

I felt better when I got home.
Being 64 isn't so bad after all.
