Bandit

I was making breakfast for my Daisy and Bandit and I looked up and saw Bandit looking at me, like fix what you want, I may or may not eat it. And next to me was Daisy jumping around the kitchen so excited about eating. Bandit is his own little man.

My fall porch

It is not quite finished. I need to add some leaf garlands around the chair and the bench and get my fall door mat out. I am so ready for fall.

Getting ready for fall

My daughter bought these little glitter pumpkins at the dollar tree and gave them to me yesterday. I have lots of places that I can place these little pumpkins through out my home so I got up early and cleaned the dollar tree out of the 26 they had left. I know greedy as charged.

Losing someone you love

The past few weeks have been difficult. I lost my husband to cancer on April 8Th. You think you are prepared but of course you never are. He was a good father and my children would have made him proud with the beautiful eulogies they spoke at his service. I still have not gone through his clothes, it is just too hard. But thankfully I have family and friends that have been very supportive. I plan on visiting my sister next week in Missouri for a 3 week stay. I hope you can stand me that long. We spoke about our travels towards the end. All the cruises we have been on and trips to Europe and how lucky and blessed we did our traveling in our 40's and 50's and a couple trips in our 60's, and how good it was that we did it then instead of waiting for retirement. I have those happy memories that will hold me my lifetime. Here is a picture of him when we were in Arizona visiting our youngest son Greg.

Valentine decor in the dining nook

I used the red charger plates from Christmas. And my white plates. I think I might add the white bowls to the plates and fill them with red candy hearts. I scored the vintage looking cloche a couple years ago and I usually only have a candle in it. Now I use it more with plants or small objects. This the view of the table. This is the close up of the cloche

More Valentine decorating

This is the first part of the mantle. I will be adding flowers to the mugs and a garland and finishing the rest of the mantle later today. I got this idea on pinterest and just loved it. I ordered the mugs and they finally came this morning. This is another detail I did. Just a valentine wreath in a pot from Michaels and my Christmas red bird.

Happy Birthday to me

My birthday is not until the 14th but we will be spending it at the hospital for my husbands chemo treatment. I am having my daughters friend make the cake, that I snagged off of pinterest and will pick it up the day before my birthday so I will have something to look forward after a long day at the hospital. Now if someone in my family gives me this for my birthday I will have something magnificant to display it on. Or this pretty set.

Valentine wreath

I need to make adjustments. Too many white balls together and the same with the red. I tweaked it a bit and I like this better.

Socks

I love socks. And slipper socks even better. When I ran across these I new they found a place in my heart and on my feet. They came yesterday. Love the Wizard of Oz! Still waiting for these. Inspired by Paris!

Ugly Christmas sweater cake

I saw this cake off of pinterest and printed out a picture of it. I gave the picture to my daughter and she gave it to her friend that decorates cakes. Not only did she pull it off the cake was absolutely delicious. I will have her friend make more speciality cakes in the future. This is more of a close up of the cake. We celebrated Christmas yesterday and it was a fun day and evening. I got up a little too early and faded early but it was joy for all the kids to be there and Zach was a sweet polite little boy who hugged everyone and thanked them for each gift he opened without prompting from Mom.

Zach's crafty gift to his Mommy

Yesterday I spent a few hours with my grandson making cookies and him making a craft for his Mommy for Christmas. Using jumbo jingle bells he was going to make a Christmas tree or a wreath or a present out of the bells and glue them to the inside of a frame. He chose musical note wrapping paper to cover the cardboard. After fooling around with the bells for awhile he decided to take a break and think about it. After I finished cleaning up the kitchen from making sugar cookies with him, he told me that he had decided what he wanted to do. He decided he wanted the first initial of him Mommy's name. K for Kristine. He told me that he didn't have enough bells for M for Mommy, but that was okay. He was the only one that called her that, and she does have a real name after all. He is 8 and I think he did a really good job.

Little bits of Christmas

Kristi has been a big help in helping me decorate for Christmas. She is very creative. She does little vinettes that are always happy surprises and delightful to my eye. Here are a few of the things she has done, I will share more later. And this one, very cute under my cake dome.

Christmas chair hangers

I have to apologize for the quality of the pictures. I use my IPhone because it is easier. I am going to start using my camera and go the harder way to download, at least for me. I bought these chair hangers from collectibles etc. Was very disappointed when I got them and they were so cheap I wasn't going to send them back. So I decided to embellish them. Here is the before Now this is the after, still a little bit cheezy, but I like the bright colors so will go with them this year.

Decided to create my own wreath

This one I am donating to my Woman's club Christmas party for a prize. I had fun making it. But I wished I had been better with the placement of the ornaments. Next time I will.
